EICM emphasizes the importance of theology in deepening believers’ understanding of God, His Word, and His will. Theology strengthens the relationship with God by providing knowledge of His character, His redemptive plan, and His purposes for humanity. It protects against false teachings, as Paul warns in Colossians 2:8, urging believers to stand firm against deceptive philosophies. As 2 Timothy 3:16-17 states, all Scripture is God-breathed and is essential for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, ensuring spiritual growth.

Theology also equips believers to defend their faith and discern truth, as 1 Peter 3:15 encourages: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Understanding theology helps believers share the gospel more effectively, advancing the church’s mission to make disciples of all nations. It ensures that the faith is grounded in truth, empowering believers to live out their faith with conviction and knowledge.
