About EIMC
Who We Are
Emmanuel, meaning “God with us,” reflects God’s promise of presence and salvation, fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 and affirmed in Matthew 1:23, Emmanuel assures believers of God’s constant guidance and love, offering eternal relationships through Christ.
Emmanuel International Church Ministries (EICM) began with a vision to share the Gospel, plant churches, and serve those in need. Following Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19-20 to make disciples of all nations, EICM establishes worshipping communities rooted in God’s Word, transforming lives and advancing His Kingdom.
Central to this mission is serving the marginalized, embodying Christ’s love through compassion. Guided by Matthew 25:40, EICM bridges hope and faith to those in need.
Inspired by 2 Timothy 2:2, EICM equips individuals to lead Christ-centered lives, fostering discipleship, prayer, and care. Through God’s guidance, the ministry spreads salvation, transforms communities, and fulfills the Great Commission globally.

Our History
Our history began in 1997 when God called Pastor Philip Chhetri. Born into a devout orthodox Hindu family in Nepal, Ps. Chhetri encountered Christ and accepted Him as his personal Lord and Savior. This decision led to severe persecution, forcing him to leave his home. As he stepped out in faith, he faced significant challenges, including a lack of food and shelter in the city.
In 2005, Ps. Chhetri started ( Glorious Church Ministries) a church planting and orphanage ministry in Nepal, supported by Harold Waterfield, Rev. Ian Smart, Paul Harris, and Grahan Blair from the UK. Their unwavering prayers and support were vital in establishing churches and caring for orphans, spreading God’s love and hope. By God’s grace, churches were established in major cities such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Hetauda, and the ministry grew marvelously. While visiting Seattle in 2006, God gave Ps. Chhetri has the vision to expand the ministry to Seattle and beyond, teaching and disciplining nations with the Gospel.
This vision materialized in 2014 when Ps. Chhetri, his wife Elu Thapa, their two-year-old daughter Philu, and Pastor Jit Lama, a dedicated young servant of God, started a church in North Seattle, Washington. Ps. Lama brought extensive experience in church planting and teaching ministry from Nepal and shared the same passion and vision to serve the Lord. Together, they laid the foundation of a Christ-centered ministry focused on fulfilling the Great Commission.
Guided by Jesus’ words in Matthew 28:18-20, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” the ministry strives to lead people to Christ, plant churches, and transform lives for His Kingdom.
Through unwavering faith and obedience, Emmanuel Church Ministries continues to grow, impacting lives both locally and globally.
