Discipleship

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Discipleship

EICM embraces true Biblical discipleship, following Jesus’ command to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20). Discipleship begins by leading people to Christ and continues through nurturing their spiritual growth. It involves teaching believers to obey Jesus’ teachings, modeling a life of faith, and fostering spiritual maturity. The early church’s focus on “the apostles’ teaching and fellowship” (Acts 2:42) highlights the importance of community, learning, and prayer in discipleship. Paul’s mentorship of Timothy exemplifies this model, urging him to “entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2), emphasizing the multiplication of disciples. True discipleship is lived through love and service, as Jesus demonstrated by washing His disciples’ feet and commanding them to “do as I have done” (John 13:14-15). Ultimately, discipleship is a journey of growth, rooted in commitment, community, and Christ-centered teaching, inspiring others to follow suit.
