Emmanuel Church Ministries (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website eicmusa.org. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our site or interact with our ministry, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We are a church. We are not in the business of selling data, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our site — a contact form, prayer request, event registration, volunteer sign-up, or newsletter subscription — we collect what you enter. Depending on the form, this may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and any message or prayer request you choose to share.
Donation information. If you give online, your gift is processed by a third-party payment provider. Your card or bank details are submitted directly to that provider and are never stored on our servers. We receive a record of the gift — typically your name, contact information, amount, and date — for receipting and record-keeping.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours automatically receives certain technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the site or search that referred you. This information is collected through server logs and cookies.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies — small text files stored by your browser — to keep the site working properly and to understand how it is used.
We use Google Analytics to see how visitors find and move through our site. Google Analytics sets cookies that collect information such as pages visited, time on site, approximate geographic region, and device type. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the site. You can read Google’s practices at policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We also participate in Google Ad Grants, which means we run search advertisements funded by Google. Google may set cookies to measure whether an advertisement led to a visit or action on our site. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles or to retarget individuals with ads.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may cause parts of our site to stop working correctly.
Embedded content from other services
Some pages include content hosted elsewhere — for example, videos, maps, or a social media feed. When you view a page containing embedded content, the service hosting it may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit, exactly as if you had visited that service directly. Their privacy practices govern that collection, not ours.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your questions, prayer requests, and other messages
- Send newsletters, ministry updates, and event information you have asked to receive
- Register you for events, classes, and volunteer opportunities
- Process and acknowledge donations, and issue giving statements
- Maintain records required for our operations and for compliance with tax and charitable-reporting obligations
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Protect the security of our site and our congregation
Prayer requests
Prayer requests submitted through our website are received by pastoral staff and designated prayer team volunteers. We do not publish prayer requests publicly, share them from the pulpit, or add them to any printed or emailed prayer list without your permission. If you would like your request kept confidential to pastoral staff only, please say so in your request.
When we share information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. We use outside companies to host our website, send email, process donations, and manage records. They receive only the information needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- With your consent. For anything else, we ask first.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect someone from harm.
We do not sell your personal information.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site. Registration for children’s and youth ministry programs is handled by a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, contact us and we will delete it.
Email and text communications
Every newsletter and bulk email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also reply to any message or contact us directly to be removed. Requests to stop receiving communications are honored promptly. Note that we may still need to contact you about a donation you made or an event you registered for.
Data retention
We keep contact and giving records for as long as needed for ministry purposes and for the period required by applicable tax and charitable-reporting rules. Analytics data is retained according to the default retention period set in Google Analytics.
Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across our site and restricted access to records. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we are required to keep
- Unsubscribe from any of our communications
- Opt out of analytics cookies as described above
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law. Contact us and we will work with you in good faith.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other organizations, ministries, and resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites we do not operate. Please review their policies before providing information to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
